I don’t want to add to the many interpretations of cloud computing out there, rather outline the most important characteristics that in my view define it: 1) Market participants receive and deliver services over the Internet. 2) They are sharing a common pool of IT infrastructure. 3) They have the ability to easily scale these services up or down in line with how their business needs change. 4) They pay for these services in a pay-as-you-go business model and, and 5) these services are managed by a provider. If all these statements are true, you are looking at a real example of cloud computing.

Open matters

Today, Integral announced an open platform for FX. While ‘open’ to some might just be yet another buzzword, it is critically important in this context.

In FX, many trading venues are in the cloud — but private, in that they are limited to a group of market participants that the bank, broker or venue that operates it, considers favorable to reach its business goals. That by definition limits their appeal and growth, but makes them a great source of revenue for that particular provider. Any market participant however, who is on venue A and wants to connect with others in venues C and D, is required to replicate his efforts, building and managing these connections, again and again. We at Integral don’t believe this is the right solution for such a vibrant market.

MetaFX, LLC is proud to announce the release of MT4-to-MT4 Bridge software for the Metatrader 4 (“MT4?) Server trading platform. The MT4-to-MT4 Bridge allows to connect two Metatrader 4 Servers for flexible risk management, automated trade executions (STP processing) and centralized control of the trade flow.

The MT4-to-MT4 Bridge is used to establish connection between two or more Metatrader 4 Servers and redirect trade requests from one server to another. The plugin extends functionality of the Metatrader 4 Server and addresses three main problems of the broker.

The MT4-to-MT4 Bridge allows for the reduction of market risk. When clients trade on their individual accounts in Metatrader 4 they create risk for the broker. To reduce such risk the broker needs to open similar positions with its counterparty. The MT4-to-MT4 plugin allows redirecting trade requests from the individual client accounts and execute them on the coverage accounts of the Metatrader 4 Server of the counterparty broker.

The MT4-to-MT4 Bridge gives any broker the ability to become a liquidity provider. The plugin allows connections from many Metatrader 4 Servers simultaneously. The coverage accounts can accept trades from all the connected servers.

The MT4-to-MT4 Bridge automates trade execution and dealing on the trade server. When a trade request is sent by the trader it is passed to the dealing desk of the counterparty broker. The counterparty broker confirms or rejects the trade request and the response is sent back. So the trades are confirmed remotely, no local dealing desk is required.

In addition the MT4-to-MT4 software package has a powerful Manager Interface which allows seeing Market Watch from two servers at the same time, track open positions on two servers, estimate per symbol exposure, setup alerts and change server plugin parameters in real time.
